The family is the heart of society.  In it, every child finds a feeling of security and a feeling of belonging.  In a family, values are imparted to children; children also share responsibility and develop relationships that last a lifetime.  This provides a solid foundation on which children can build their lives.

Every child is loved

Love and acceptance can heal emotional wounds and let trust develop.  With love and acceptance, children learn to believe in themselves and in others, and with this self-confidence, every child becomes able to discover and realize his or her own potential.

Every child is respected

Every child is listened to and taken seriously.  Children are included in decisions that concern their lives and are encouraged to play a relevant and active role in their own development.  A child grows up in a respected way and with dignity, as a loved and accepted member of his or her family and society.

Every child is protected

Children are protected from abuse, neglect and exploitation, and in case of disaster or war, are brought to safety.  Housing and food, medical care and education – the basic requirements for a healthy development – are available to all children.
