SOS Facilities 

Currently, 1,070,053 children and youths are cared for in SOS facilities all over the world.

Altogether, there are:

  • more than 500 SOS Children’s Villages in which 58,020 girls and boys grow up
  • 396 youth facilities for 20,317 youths
  • 231 SOS nursery schools which take care of 23,506 girls and boys
  • 185 Hermann Gmeiner Schools: 135,837 children attend school there
  • 104 vocational training centers which give 15,440 youths and adults a perspective for the future
  • 575 social centers and SOS family support programs which reach 449,813 children and parents
  • 65 medical centers which serve 488,562 patients
  • 9 emergency support programs which help 86,030 peoples in disaster zones and crisis-torn areas
