SOS Medical Centres

Every child has a right to medical care. However, the sad reality does not reflect this: in poor countries, millions of children die of simple and avoidable diseases such as measles or diarrhea.

Medical centers run by SOS Children’s Villages ensure primary health care for people in a village’s surrounding area and in exceptional cases such as catastrophes, can have interregional importance.

To the current day, SOS Children’s Villages have established 65 medical centers outside of Europe to help in cases where the population only has insufficient or no access to medical facilities.  These centers are directly associated with the SOS Children’s Villages and can cover necessary local medical needs or provide preventive medicine.
