Oftentimes, a family does not need much in order to break an otherwise vicious cycle of poverty – support with school fees, a sewing machine, or perhaps chickens to raise and farm. SOS Family Support helps families become self-sufficient. They are helped to help themselves, for example with small loans, professional training, daycare, school fees or medical care. In the future, the available help is to be expanded considerably.
With SOS Family Support, our children’s villages are making a sustainable contribution to development cooperation. We are committed to the worldwide fight against poverty, and this poverty is currently intensifying due to crises concerning food and finance.
With this in mind, SOS Children’s Villages are providing neighborhood assistance for families in need. Our family strengthening programs currently reach 299,904 children and parents all over the world – and in coming years, we will continue to expand our help for families in need.
