Allianz Global Investors 

Since 2009, Allianz Global Investors has been supporting SOS Children’s Villages within the frame of a long-term, multifaceted partnership. At the same time, it is especially important to Allianz Global Investors to not only inform its own staff members about its involvement, but to also actively include them. One of the best examples is the Allianz Global Investors’ Christmas party. As a surprise, the company management had invited Lilly Andres, the current world champion in tabletop soccer. Naturally, the staff members could have some fun testing their strengths, but at the same time there was an opportunity to help a good cause.

For every goal scored against Lilly Andres, 10 euros were donated to SOS Children’s Villages. The games were played two against one, with two staff members facing the world champion. Many colleagues learned the game the hard way. Occasionally, she allowed consolation goals to be scored, but when she didn’t hold back, the final score could well be 10:0 in her favor. The donations that were accrued in the tabletop soccer tournament were supplemented by further donations of staff members, and company management then added funds to reach a round sum.
